About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled QA/QC - Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Riyadh. This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance across our civil engineering projects, which include government mega-projects, commercial developments, and infrastructure initiatives aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. As part of the QA & QC Department, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement and monitor quality assurance and control processes that meet both client and regulatory expectations.
In this role, you will oversee quality inspections, ensure adherence to project specifications, and maintain compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant standards. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging cutting-edge tools and methodologies to enhance project outcomes. Your day-to-day activities will include conducting site inspections, preparing quality documentation, coordinating with contractors and consultants, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans in alignment with client requirements and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes.
- Monitor construction activities to identify and address quality issues proactively.
- Ensure adherence to the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant standards.
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports, test plans, and non-conformance reports.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues.
- Review and approve material submittals, method statements, and shop drawings for compliance.
- Implement and monitor ISO 9001 quality management systems across assigned projects.
- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for non-conformances.
- Train project teams on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of audit findings.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all project phases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the construction or civil engineering industry.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- In-depth knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and ISO 9001 standards.
- Proficiency in quality management tools and software, such as Primavera P6, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and testing procedures.
- Familiarity with NEBOSH or equivalent safety certifications.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent.
- Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects.
- Knowledge of LEED, Mostadam, or other green building standards.
- Proficiency in advanced quality management tools such as SAP Quality Management Module.
Working Conditions
- Based in Riyadh, with frequent site visits to construction locations.
- Work environment includes both office settings and active construction sites.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required during site visits.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions typical of the Riyadh region.
- Standard working hours with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Limited regional travel may be required for project coordination.
