Technical - Senior Architectural Engineer

About the Role

BEC Arabia is looking for a Senior Architectural Engineer to join our Technical Department in Yanbu, a key location for some of Saudi Arabia's most ambitious infrastructure and urban development projects. As a Senior Architectural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-quality architectural solutions that align with BEC Arabia’s commitment to excellence and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, MEP specialists, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of architectural designs into large-scale construction projects. You will oversee the development of detailed architectural plans, manage design reviews, and ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of architectural designs and detailed drawings, ensuring alignment with project requirements and client expectations.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, and civil engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of architectural plans into overall project designs.
• Review and approve architectural drawings, specifications, and materials to ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and project standards.
• Manage design review processes, including stakeholder presentations and client feedback incorporation.
• Ensure compliance with sustainability standards such as LEED and Mostadam, integrating green building practices into architectural designs.
• Conduct site inspections to verify that construction aligns with approved architectural plans and specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior architects and design staff within the team.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans related to architectural deliverables.
• Monitor and resolve design-related issues during the construction phase, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into project designs.
• Prepare and submit required documentation for regulatory approvals, including permits and compliance reports.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Architecture or a related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design and project execution, with at least 5 years in senior roles.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools for architectural design and modeling.
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant regulatory standards.
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
• Experience in delivering large-scale commercial, residential, or government infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as LEED or Mostadam.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and client relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Certification in LEED AP or Mostadam for green building practices.
• Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects or similar large-scale initiatives.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D rendering software such as Lumion or SketchUp.
• Knowledge of parametric design tools like Grasshopper or Rhino.
• Previous experience in smart city projects or digital construction initiatives.

Working Conditions

• Based in Yanbu, with a mix of office and site-based responsibilities.
• Regular travel to construction sites within the region for inspections and meetings.
• Standard working hours with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required during site visits.
• Exposure to outdoor conditions typical of construction environments, including high temperatures.
