About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Technical - MEP Engineer to join our Technical Department in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the design, coordination, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for some of Saudi Arabia’s most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure that all MEP systems meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include reviewing designs, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Review: Develop, review, and optimize MEP designs to ensure compliance with project specifications, Saudi Building Code (SBC), and international standards.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
  • Project Management: Monitor MEP project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time and within-budget completion.
  • Compliance: Ensure all MEP systems adhere to regulatory requirements, including Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration and ARAMCO standards where applicable.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and quality checks on MEP installations to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Sustainability: Implement energy-efficient and sustainable solutions in line with Mostadam and LEED green building standards.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including shop drawings, as-built drawings, and operation manuals.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with MEP systems to ensure project success.
  • Training: Mentor junior engineers and provide training on the latest MEP technologies and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP engineering within the construction industry.
  • Certifications: Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is mandatory.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Primavera P6.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and GOSI compliance requirements.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Certifications in LEED, Mostadam, or other green building standards.
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows.
  • Previous experience on NEOM, Red Sea Global, or other Saudi giga-projects.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

Working Conditions

  • Location: Based in Riyadh with occasional travel to project sites across Saudi Arabia.
  • Environment: Primarily office-based with regular visits to construction sites.
  • PPE: Personal protective equipment required during site visits.
  • Climate: Exposure to hot and arid conditions during site inspections.
  • Schedule: Full-time, with flexibility to work extended hours as project demands require.
