Technical - Senior Draftsman

About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Draftsman to join our Technical Department in Makkah. This role is integral to the success of our high-profile construction and infrastructure projects, including government mega-projects and commercial developments. As a Senior Draftsman, you will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to produce detailed technical drawings and ensure design accuracy across all project phases.

In this position, you will be responsible for creating and managing complex 2D and 3D drawings using industry-standard software. Your work will directly support the execution of projects aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, contributing to the Kingdom's transformation and modernization goals. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, plans, and schematics using software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure drawings align with project specifications and requirements.
• Review and revise drawings to incorporate feedback and ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant standards.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all drawings, maintaining high-quality standards.
• Maintain an organized database of drawings and related documentation for easy retrieval and reference.
• Collaborate with the construction team to address on-site challenges and provide technical support during project execution.
• Monitor and update drawings to reflect as-built conditions and changes during the construction phase.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
• Train and mentor junior draftsmen to enhance team capabilities and ensure knowledge transfer.
• Participate in design review meetings and provide technical insights to optimize project outcomes.
• Stay updated on the latest drafting technologies and industry trends to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in drafting for construction, infrastructure, or engineering projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting software.
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant regulations.
• Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows and standards.
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality technical drawings.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in BIM or advanced drafting techniques.
• Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 mega-projects.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar project scheduling tools.
• Familiarity with green building standards such as Mostadam or LEED.
• Experience in coordinating with international teams and stakeholders.

Working Conditions

• Based in Makkah, with work primarily conducted in an office environment.
• Occasional visits to construction sites for coordination and verification purposes.
• Standard working hours with potential for overtime during project deadlines.
• Use of PPE required during site visits.
