QS Civil - Team Leader

About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled QS Civil - Team Leader to join our Quantity Surveying Department in Cairo. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of quantity surveyors, ensuring the accurate estimation, cost control, and financial management of large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents for large-scale construction projects.
• Monitor project budgets and ensure alignment with financial objectives and cost control measures.
• Conduct regular cost variance analyses and provide actionable insights to project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with procurement teams to evaluate supplier bids and negotiate contracts.
• Ensure compliance with the Egyptian Building Code and relevant regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain cost databases to support accurate forecasting and estimation.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate financial risks.
• Review and validate contractor claims, progress payments, and final accounts.
• Utilize advanced tools such as Primavera P6 and AutoCAD Civil 3D for project planning and cost management.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports and present findings to senior management.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and sustainability standards in all cost-related activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and advanced Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of the Egyptian Building Code and Egyptian Labor Law.
• Strong understanding of cost estimation, budget management, and financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Membership in the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• Certification in RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent.
• Experience with green building standards such as LEED or Mostadam.
• Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools and methodologies.
• Previous experience on mega-projects or government infrastructure initiatives.
