Technical - Electrical Team Leader

About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a seasoned Technical - Electrical Team Leader to join our dynamic team in Makkah. This pivotal role is integral to delivering world-class electrical engineering solutions across some of Saudi Arabia's most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects. As a key member of the Technical Department, you will lead a team of electrical engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful design, implementation, and commissioning of electrical systems that meet the highest industry standards.

In this role, you will oversee the technical aspects of electrical engineering projects, ensuring compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) standards, and other regulatory requirements. You will play a critical role in driving innovation, optimizing designs, and ensuring project milestones are met. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering team in the design, implementation, and commissioning of electrical systems for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD Electrical and ETAP.
• Ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), SCE standards, and other regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and project management teams, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculations, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards, quality benchmarks, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate and select electrical equipment and materials that meet project requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, and other electrical design tools.
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant standards.
• Proven experience in leading teams and managing complex projects.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
• Experience with smart city projects and sustainable electrical systems.
• Familiarity with LEED, Mostadam, or other green building standards.
• Previous experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects.

Working Conditions

• Based in Makkah, with occasional travel to project sites across Saudi Arabia.
• Primarily office-based with regular site visits requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Exposure to construction site environments, including varying weather conditions.
• Standard working hours with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
