About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical - Mechanical Team Leader to join our Technical Department in Makkah. This pivotal role involves leading a team of mechanical engineers and specialists to deliver world-class solutions for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. As a key player in our organization, you will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of mechanical systems, ensuring alignment with project goals and compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other regulatory standards.
In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and project management professionals, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into our projects. You will also play a critical role in mentoring junior engineers, driving innovation, and implementing best practices to enhance project efficiency and sustainability. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical engineering team in the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical systems for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure the successful delivery of mechanical engineering components.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), ARAMCO standards, and other relevant regulations.
- Develop detailed mechanical engineering plans, specifications, and reports using industry-standard tools and software.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of mechanical systems during construction and post-installation phases.
- Implement sustainability and energy efficiency measures in mechanical system designs, aligning with green building standards such as LEED and Mostadam.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Review and approve technical drawings, calculations, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to select and source high-quality mechanical equipment and materials.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Report regularly to senior management on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is mandatory.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Primavera P6.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and ARAMCO standards.
- Demonstrated experience in managing teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Familiarity with green building standards such as LEED or Mostadam.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
- Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects.
- Expertise in HVAC system design and energy modeling.
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows and tools.
Working Conditions
- Based in Makkah, with occasional travel to project sites within the Kingdom.
- Primarily office-based with regular visits to construction sites, requiring the use of PPE.
- Exposure to varying climate conditions, including high temperatures during site visits.
- Standard working hours with potential for extended hours during critical project phases.
