About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking a highly skilled PMV - Tower Crane Supervisor to join our Logistics Department at our Khobar location. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the operation, maintenance, and compliance of tower cranes across our diverse portfolio of projects, which include commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and government mega-projects. Your expertise will directly contribute to the seamless execution of construction activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and alignment with BEC Arabia's commitment to operational excellence.
As a PMV - Tower Crane Supervisor, you will work closely with project managers, site engineers, and logistics teams to ensure that tower crane operations are optimized to meet project timelines and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation, operation, and dismantling of tower cranes across multiple project sites, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime of tower cranes.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols, including compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and OSHA standards.
- Coordinate with project managers and site teams to ensure crane availability aligns with project timelines and requirements.
- Inspect tower cranes regularly to identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning.
- Manage a team of crane operators and technicians, providing training and performance feedback to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including GOSI and Saudi Labor Law, for all crane-related activities.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of crane operations, maintenance, and inspections for audit and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source spare parts and equipment, ensuring timely availability to avoid project delays.
- Lead incident investigations related to crane operations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in tower crane technology and recommend upgrades or improvements as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in tower crane operations, maintenance, and supervision within the construction industry.
- Certification in NEBOSH or equivalent safety standards.
- Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and OSHA regulations.
- Proven experience managing a team of crane operators and technicians.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- Strong understanding of GOSI and Saudi Labor Law compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Certification in ISO 45001 or other advanced safety management systems.
- Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 mega-projects.
- Knowledge of BIM and digital construction tools.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic.
Working Conditions
- Based in Khobar, with frequent visits to construction sites across the region.
- Work environment includes both office settings and outdoor construction sites.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions typical of Saudi Arabia.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory on-site.
- Standard working hours with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Regional travel may be required to oversee operations at multiple project sites.
