About the Role
BEC Arabia is looking for an experienced Scaffolding Section Head to join our Logistics Department in Riyadh. As a key leader in our operations, you will oversee all scaffolding activities across some of the Kingdom's most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects. This is a pivotal role that ensures the safe and efficient execution of scaffolding operations, aligning with BEC Arabia’s commitment to excellence and compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international safety standards.
You will lead a team of scaffolding supervisors, inspectors, and skilled workers, coordinating with project managers and site engineers to deliver high-quality scaffolding solutions. Your expertise will directly impact the success of giga-projects under Saudi Vision 2030, including smart cities, industrial facilities, and commercial developments. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of scaffolding operations across multiple project sites, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Develop and implement scaffolding procedures, risk assessments, and method statements in alignment with OSHA, NEBOSH, and SBC requirements.
- Manage a team of scaffolding supervisors, inspectors, and skilled workers, providing training and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and installation of scaffolding materials.
- Monitor scaffolding activities to ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and safety protocols.
- Ensure all scaffolding structures are inspected, certified, and maintained according to regulatory and project-specific requirements.
- Oversee the procurement and inventory management of scaffolding materials, optimizing costs and availability.
- Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scaffolding operations.
- Conduct regular site visits and audits to verify compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and third-party inspectors to ensure all scaffolding activities meet legal and contractual obligations.
- Prepare detailed reports on scaffolding performance, incidents, and compliance metrics for senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in scaffolding operations within the construction or infrastructure industry.
- Certifications: NEBOSH International General Certificate, OSHA Scaffolding Competent Person Certification, or equivalent.
- Proven expertise in scaffolding design, installation, and inspection.
- Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international safety standards.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other relevant tools.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Experience with mega-projects under Saudi Vision 2030.
- Additional certifications such as CITB Advanced Scaffolding Inspection or LEED Accreditation.
- Knowledge of BIM tools for scaffolding planning and coordination.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic.
Working Conditions
- Based in Riyadh, with frequent travel to project sites across the Kingdom.
- Primarily site-based, requiring extensive fieldwork in outdoor environments and construction zones.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions typical of the region.
- Standard working hours with occasional extended shifts to meet project deadlines.
