About the Role
BEC Arabia is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to join our team in Makkah, where we are delivering some of the Kingdom’s most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects. As a Logistics Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless coordination of materials, equipment, and resources across multiple project sites. Reporting to the Head of Logistics, you will lead a team of logistics professionals and collaborate closely with project managers, procurement teams, and external vendors to meet tight deadlines and maintain operational excellence.
This role is critical to the successful execution of BEC Arabia’s projects, including government mega-projects and private sector developments aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. You will be responsible for developing and implementing logistics strategies, optimizing supply chain processes, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies to support large-scale construction and infrastructure projects in Makkah.
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end supply chain, including procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution of materials and equipment.
- Coordinate with project managers, procurement teams, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of resources to project sites.
- Monitor and optimize logistics operations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize delays.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Labor Law, GOSI requirements, and other regulatory standards applicable to logistics operations in Saudi Arabia.
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics coordinators and warehouse staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols in line with ISO 45001 and other relevant standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Utilize technology such as ERP systems and logistics management software to streamline operations and enhance decision-making.
- Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, including KPIs, cost analysis, and risk assessments.
- Support sustainability initiatives by integrating green logistics practices into operations, in alignment with Mostadam standards.
- Respond proactively to unforeseen challenges, such as supply chain disruptions or site-specific logistics issues, to minimize project impact.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in logistics management, preferably within the construction or engineering sectors.
- Proven expertise in supply chain optimization, inventory management, and transportation logistics.
- Familiarity with Saudi Labor Law, GOSI requirements, and Saudi Building Code (SBC) regulations.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and tools such as SAP, Oracle ERP, or equivalent.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of leading diverse, multi-national teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is preferred for candidates with engineering backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration (MBA).
- Certification in Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 mega-projects or similar large-scale initiatives.
- Knowledge of Mostadam or LEED green building standards.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 for project scheduling and logistics planning.
Working Conditions
- Based in Makkah, with frequent visits to construction sites and warehouses.
- Primarily office-based, with on-site responsibilities requiring the use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
- Occasional travel within Saudi Arabia to support regional projects.
- Exposure to high temperatures and challenging environmental conditions typical of construction sites in the region.
- Standard working hours with flexibility required to address project-specific demands and deadlines.
