About the Role

BEC Arabia, a leader in construction, infrastructure, and engineering, is looking for an experienced PMV - Maintenance Foreman to join our team in Makkah. This role is critical to ensuring the operational readiness and efficiency of our plant, machinery, and vehicle (PMV) fleet, which supports some of the Kingdom’s most ambitious projects. Working closely with the PMV Manager and a team of skilled technicians, you will oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the maintenance and repair activities of heavy equipment, machinery, and vehicles to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all PMV assets in alignment with operational requirements.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with the PMV Manager to prioritize maintenance tasks and allocate resources effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, including OSHA and ISO 45001, during all maintenance activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and consumables, and coordinate procurement to avoid shortages.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment histories, using CMMS software.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely availability of equipment for construction activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in a timely manner.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure all repairs meet manufacturer and regulatory standards.
  • Support audits and inspections by internal and external stakeholders, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, machinery, and vehicles, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, ISO 45001, and other safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
  • Valid Saudi residency (Iqama) and compliance with Saudi Labor Law.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in NEBOSH or other safety-related programs.
  • Experience working on Saudi Aramco-approved projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM tools for equipment management.
  • Advanced training in diesel engine diagnostics or hydraulic systems.
  • Previous experience in a multi-national workforce environment.

Working Conditions

  • Based in Makkah, with occasional travel to project sites within the region.
  • Primarily site-based, requiring frequent presence in outdoor and workshop environments.
  • Exposure to construction site conditions, including heat, dust, and noise.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
  • Standard working hours with occasional overtime based on project demands.
