Senior Infrastructure Electrical Engineer

About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Electrical Engineer to join our Technical Department in Cairo. This role is pivotal in delivering world-class infrastructure solutions that align with Egypt Vision 2030, including urban development and modernization projects. As a senior member of the team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and overseeing electrical systems for large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with the highest engineering and safety standards.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and project management professionals, to deliver integrated solutions for roads, utilities, and industrial facilities. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful execution of projects that enhance Egypt's infrastructure landscape. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Egyptian Building Codes and international standards.
• Develop detailed electrical engineering plans, including schematics, layouts, and specifications, using tools such as AutoCAD Electrical and ETAP.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into overall project designs.
• Supervise on-site electrical installations, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure quality and adherence to project timelines.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including ISO 45001 and NEBOSH guidelines, during all phases of the project.
• Monitor project progress and provide technical support to resolve any electrical engineering challenges that arise.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including BOQs, RFIs, and project reports, to support project execution and client communication.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements and compliance standards are met.
• Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies for electrical systems in infrastructure projects.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in electrical engineering to enhance project outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering for infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, and other relevant design and simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian Building Codes and IEC standards.
• Experience with medium and low-voltage systems, including substations, transformers, and distribution networks.
• Familiarity with safety standards such as ISO 45001 and NEBOSH.
• Registration with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
• Experience with green building standards such as LEED or Mostadam.
• Previous experience working on government mega-projects or industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of smart city technologies and BIM software.

Working Conditions

• This role is office-based in Cairo, with regular visits to construction sites.
• Site visits may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Standard working hours with occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
• Exposure to construction site environments, including variable weather conditions.
• Minimal regional travel may be required for project coordination.
