PMV - Tower Crane Supervisor

About the Role

BEC Arabia, a leader in construction, infrastructure, and engineering, is seeking a highly skilled PMV - Tower Crane Supervisor to join our Logistics Department in Khobar. This role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of tower cranes across our diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial buildings, residential mega-projects, and government infrastructure initiatives. As part of our Project Management Vehicle (PMV) team, you will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence and compliance with safety standards.

In this position, you will oversee the deployment, maintenance, and inspection of tower cranes, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and equipment operators to ensure seamless crane operations that align with project timelines and budgets. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation, operation, and dismantling of tower cranes across multiple project sites.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including ISO 45001, Saudi Building Code (SBC), and other relevant regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure the reliability and safety of all tower cranes.
• Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to schedule crane operations in alignment with project timelines.
• Monitor crane operator performance and provide guidance to ensure adherence to operational protocols.
• Develop and implement risk assessment plans for crane operations to mitigate potential hazards.
• Maintain accurate records of crane usage, maintenance, and inspections for regulatory compliance.
• Liaise with equipment vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of spare parts and services.
• Train crane operators and maintenance staff on safety procedures and equipment handling.
• Prepare detailed reports on crane operations, incidents, and maintenance activities for senior management.
• Optimize crane utilization to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Respond promptly to any operational issues or emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in tower crane operations, maintenance, and supervision within the construction industry.
• Certification in Crane Safety Operations (e.g., CPCS, NCCCO, or equivalent).
• Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and ISO 45001 safety standards.
• Proficiency in maintenance management systems and tools.
• Strong understanding of load charts, rigging techniques, and crane configurations.
• Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration (mandatory for KSA-based roles).
• Familiarity with GOSI and other Saudi labor regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 mega-projects.
• Advanced knowledge of crane automation systems and remote monitoring technologies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software for crane placement planning.
• Strong project management skills with a PMP certification.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic.

Working Conditions

• Based in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, with frequent travel to construction sites across the region.
• Work environment includes both office settings and outdoor construction sites, requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, including high temperatures typical of the Gulf region.
• Standard working hours with occasional overtime and weekend work to meet project deadlines.
