About the Role

BEC Arabia is looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Technical Department in Khobar. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative structural designs and solutions for some of the most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. From commercial high-rises to government mega-projects, your expertise will directly contribute to the success of BEC Arabia's diverse portfolio.

In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, project managers, and construction professionals, to ensure the structural integrity and safety of our projects. You will also be responsible for reviewing designs, conducting structural analyses, and ensuring compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other relevant standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural design process for complex commercial, residential, and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international standards.
  • Perform advanced structural analyses using tools like ETABS, SAP2000, and STAAD.Pro to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and specifications prepared by junior engineers and consultants.
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and project managers to integrate structural designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration requirements and other regulatory standards.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and verify adherence to structural design specifications.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to develop cost-effective and sustainable structural solutions.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance project outcomes.
  • Support the tendering process by providing structural input for bids and proposals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, including ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Familiarity with BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
  • In-depth knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international standards such as ACI, AISC, and BS EN.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and safety standards, including ISO 45001 and ISO 9001.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Certification in LEED, Mostadam, or other green building standards.
  • Experience working on NEOM, Red Sea Global, or other Saudi giga-projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of seismic design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 for project scheduling.
  • Experience with ARAMCO-approved structural standards.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role in Khobar with occasional travel to project sites across Saudi Arabia.
  • Regular site visits requiring adherence to strict safety protocols and the use of PPE.
  • Exposure to varying climatic conditions, including high temperatures during site inspections.
