About the Role

BEC Arabia is looking for an experienced Technical - Architectural Design Team Leader to join our Technical Department in Riyadh. As a key leader within the organization, you will oversee the architectural design process for some of the Kingdom’s most ambitious projects, including commercial developments, residential mega-projects, and government-led initiatives aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of architects and designers, ensuring the delivery of innovative, sustainable, and compliant designs that meet client expectations and regulatory standards.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of architectural designs into broader project plans. Your expertise will directly influence the quality and success of BEC Arabia’s projects, from concept development to final execution. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
  • Develop innovative architectural concepts and designs that align with client requirements and project objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), municipal regulations, and international standards such as LEED and Mostadam.
  • Coordinate with project managers, structural engineers, and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of architectural designs.
  • Review and approve architectural drawings, specifications, and material selections.
  • Conduct design feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and propose solutions.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients and government authorities, to address design-related concerns and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Implement digital design tools and methodologies, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), to enhance project efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in design processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, sustainability, and excellence within the architectural design team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) or Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
  • Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international standards such as LEED and Mostadam.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale commercial, residential, or government projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in LEED AP, Mostadam, or other green building standards.
  • Experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects or similar high-profile developments.
  • Advanced knowledge of parametric design tools such as Grasshopper or Rhino.
  • Master’s degree in Urban Design or Sustainable Architecture.
  • Familiarity with digital twin technologies and smart city frameworks.

Working Conditions

  • Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
  • Environment: Office-based with occasional site visits to construction locations.
  • Travel: Minimal regional travel may be required for stakeholder meetings or site inspections.
  • Safety: Compliance with BEC Arabia’s safety protocols, including the use of PPE during site visits.
  • Climate: Exposure to Riyadh’s desert climate during outdoor activities.
