About the Role

BEC Arabia is looking for a seasoned Risk Team Leader Engineer to join our Project Management Department in Cairo. This role is integral to the successful delivery of our high-profile infrastructure and construction projects across Egypt. As a key member of the project management team, you will lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation efforts, ensuring project objectives are met within budget, scope, and timeline constraints.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and financial analysts, to develop and implement robust risk management frameworks. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive risk management plans for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• Identify potential risks across all project phases, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Assess the likelihood and impact of identified risks using quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address critical project risks.
• Monitor and report on risk status, trends, and mitigation effectiveness to project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and financial teams to integrate risk management into overall project planning.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian regulations, including the Egyptian Code and relevant safety standards such as ISO 45001.
• Facilitate risk workshops and training sessions to enhance organizational risk awareness and capability.
• Prepare detailed risk management documentation, including risk registers, dashboards, and executive reports.
• Collaborate with external consultants and auditors to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
• Support the continuous improvement of BEC Arabia’s risk management processes and tools.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in risk management within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Professional certification such as PMP, RMP, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in risk management tools and software, including Primavera Risk Analysis and @Risk.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian Labor Law, Egyptian Code, and ISO 31000 standards.
• Demonstrated experience in managing risks for large-scale projects exceeding $50 million in value.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Risk Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Certification in NEBOSH or other safety-related credentials.
• Experience with Egypt Vision 2030 projects, including urban development and infrastructure modernization.
• Familiarity with BIM tools and digital construction methodologies.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.

Working Conditions

• This is an office-based role located in Cairo, with occasional site visits to project locations.
• Standard working hours with potential for extended hours during critical project phases.
• Travel may be required within Egypt to support project teams.
• Compliance with all safety protocols and PPE requirements during site visits.
