Project - Senior Electrical Engineer

About the Role

BEC Arabia is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic Project Management team in Riyadh. As a key technical leader, you will oversee the design, implementation, and execution of electrical systems for some of the Kingdom's most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects, including government giga-projects, smart cities, and industrial facilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of cutting-edge, sustainable, and compliant electrical solutions that align with Saudi Vision 2030.

In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and project management professionals, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into large-scale projects. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers, maintaining compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) standards, and driving innovation in electrical engineering practices. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) standards, and relevant safety regulations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems with civil, mechanical, and architectural components.
• Review and approve electrical engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
• Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement testing, commissioning, and maintenance plans for electrical systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for electrical engineering aspects of projects.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate and select electrical equipment, materials, and vendors.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff.
• Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders and clients.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, sustainability practices, and industry trends to drive innovation in electrical engineering.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Professional registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, and Revit MEP for electrical design and modeling.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and relevant electrical standards.
• Experience with HVAC systems, power distribution, and lighting design.
• Familiarity with safety standards such as ISO 45001 and NEBOSH.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
• Experience with smart city infrastructure and renewable energy systems.
• Knowledge of LEED, Mostadam, or other green building standards.
• Previous experience working on Saudi Vision 2030 giga-projects.

Working Conditions

• Based in Riyadh, with occasional travel to project sites across Saudi Arabia.
• Primarily office-based, with regular site visits requiring PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
• Exposure to construction site environments, including outdoor conditions and high temperatures.
• Standard working hours with potential for extended hours during critical project phases.
